As a school board chair I am familiar with how hard it is for teachers to really be rewarded for their innovations and hard work. This a great story about one teacher who, with the benefit of an entrepreneurial dot.com, was able to make her ideas pay off.
I think our educational system should do more to acknowledge bilingual students and encourage, teach and require bi and multilingualism fluency at a much younger age. It’s embarrassing when Europeans come over here speaking English and multiple other languages but when Americans go to other countries they/we (well, not me, but I guess I don’t travel much) only speak one language.
