Now that scientists from the J. Craig Venter Institute have successfully created and implanted artificial DNA in a cell, one wonders how long it will be before atheists deny it is the product of Intelligent Design?

    Yeah, it is essentially reverse engineering. Which would seem to suggest there was engineering to reverse to begin with.

    What fascinates me is how much it’s like programming – I don’t know how anyone can deny that an information system resides at the heart of a living cell, since that is exactly how it works.

    What I don’t get is those people who believe this happened naturally, dedicated to finding out how yet haven’t got the first clue.

    I figure if it could happen outside with a bit of rain and a few rocks lying around .. perhaps some lightning .. then it’s gotta be pretty simple for some guys with PHDs. Surely?

    Certainly. Not only that, but one would have expected it to have occurred more regularly in earth’s history (or the history of other planets), but every indication is that the origin of life was unique event.
