The 2nd Happiest Place on Earth

Is North Korea of course! In what should be no surprise to our atheist readers, the three happiest places on earth are havens for atheism – China, North Korea, and Cuba at least according to reports in North Korea:

According to a global happiness index released in North Korea, the country and its allies are the most cheerful countries in the world. Naturally, the “American Empire” strikes Pyongyang as just plain sad.

Shanghaiist reports that North Korea’s Chosun Central Television recently came out with a happiness index compiled by local researchers. Their findings? China is the happiest place on the planet, earning 100 points (a perfect score!). Right behind it, at number two, is none other than North Korea itself. Cuba, Iran and Venezuela (in that order) round out the top five.

Far be it for me to suggest that a survey conducted by the North Korean government might not be the most objective source for such information – then again, it can’t be that much worse than some other recent surveys.

Yet one more example of how idiotic it is to make statistical studies on things like “happiness.” I was astonished you even seemed to take seriously similar studies (more or less related to sex) which had been made in the West.

Well my post on the atheist sex study was a list of reasons why no one should take it seriously. I certainly don’t.

  3. The Judge says:

Yeah, though I seem to recall you countered some of the arguments by posting links to other studies which seemed to contradict the claims. You seemed to claim that these were more ‘serious,’ but they were built on the same premise.

For the rest, by the way, I found your critique very well argued.
